Fornino is a cool spot in Brooklyn Bridge Park. We ate outside on a roof-esque platform with an awesome view of Manhattan. (Isn’t it funny that when you’re off of Manhattan, you seek out every opportunity to get to look at Manhattan?) The pizza at Fornino was delicious. Pizza-oven pizza usually does it for me pretty good. And who knew Al Roker and I liked the same pizza toppings*? It has caramelized onion, roast pepper, sorpressata, and cheese galore. It was fabulous. I ate the whole thing.
*Total speculation. I just assumed that since the pizza was called Al Roker, it was the kind of pizza he liked. But far be it from me to know what Al Roker likes on his pizza. He seems like the kind of guy who likes to catch you by surprise. Just when you think you know what he’s going to order, he swings the other way. Al Roker. Man of mystery.
